the perfect baby shower gift: handmade diaper bag

My friend's baby shower went great. That was lots of fun. Great foods, group of people, lots of gifts!! I made my friend, Christina, a special gift for her shower: a diaper bag. I've made bags before but never really a diaper bag. So, I designed a bag that would fit all the baby gadgets she is going to need to carry. We all know pretty diaper bags are hard to find. Honestly, I have never seen a diaper bag pretty enough to make me want to buy it. You can see the bag I made below. I even asked another friend of mine, Siobhan, to model it for me.

Details about the bag:
Front fabric: The Drawing Room from Anna Maria Horner
Body fabric: denim
Lining: pre-quilted fabric
Pockets: mustard colored linen backed with denim

Measurements:
15.5" wide
13.5" tall
5" deep
adjustable strap
6 total pockets (one on the front accented with teal-colored piping, 5 pockets inside the bag)

I designed the bag myself.
This bag is fabulous. It is big enough to carry all your baby stuff.
Can also be used for other purposes---laptop bag, school bag, office bag, you name it.
This bag is available for custom order ($75).
You can add more pockets or anything else you want for a small fee.

reversible apron

Few months ago, a coworker of mine requested a custom made apron to give as a gift for her mother. She selected the apron style and fabrics from my fabric collection to make this reversible apron.

If you are interested in ordering one, send me an email. I have tons of fabrics you can choose from. This apron makes lovely gift!

few things ...

I am so swamped with orders right now. Both from my Etsy shops and custom orders. Did I ever tell you having a baby is like having another full-time job? Sometimes I wonder when do I ever find the time to sew. Maybe I actually sew when I sleep. I don't know. It's like I magically produce all these things for my shops. I wish I had Doraemon. If you don't know him, just forget what I just said. But if you do know him, you know what I am talking about and I know you wish you had him too!! admit it.

So. After much thinking, I have decided to momentarily stop taking custom orders. I need to catch up on restocking my Etsy shops. They are looking pretty old right now. I keep on relisting things I sold. What I want is to list new things. Like a veggie shop, you want something fresh. I run three one-woman Etsy shops, though one of them doesn't require much work really (talking about my vintage shop). Yes it gets hectic for me sometimes.

I have few new things in the making right now for my Etsy shops---both baby and pouches shop. I want to introduce new items. Then have a giveaway here. I am also thinking of hosting giveaways at my bloggie friends's blogs. Should be fun, right?

And on top of all this madness, I am also thinking of creating a craft group. This is just a maybe. If I have the time. I envision of a craft group that meets once a month for 1 - 2 hour. Do fun and easy craft projects. Nothing serious. Swapping ideas. Connecting with other crafters in town. Oh and it has to be free. I mean, sure you have to bring your own supplies and all to the meeting but other than that, no fees to join. I'll give update on this later.

Custom Order Baby Gift Set !!

I have been busy this weekend crafting more fun stuff to be listed this coming week. I will have more coin purses made from Japanese fabrics. And I will have some passport holders as well as make-up pouches.

I just finished a custom order of a baby gift set. It has bib, burp cloth, diaper keeper, and travel changing pad. I custom made it for a coworker of mine. For this particular set, my coworker has chosen to use Michael Miller's Flights of Fancy fabric.

If you would like to order the similar set, send me a note.
I have a nice selection of fabrics you can choose from.
The price for the whole set is $50.
Simply send me email at Limited_Edition78(at)Yahoo(dot)com

As always, please visit my Etsy shop at http://www.downtowngirldesigns.etsy.com/

My goal is to list at least one newly crafted item each day.

Thanks for visiting my blog!!! have a good evening.
