Look what came in the mail today!! My new stash of Japanese fabrics!!! You can take a peek of what they look like from the picture. I cannot wait to to start crafting using these lovely fabrics.

I have to be honest, I am a huge fan of Japanese fabrics. They do cost twice more than most American designers' fabrics but Japanese fabrics are more fun to work with, in my opinion. I love to make purses or pouches using them. They always have cute, innocent designs on it. They make me happy.

in case you are wondering....

As you might have noticed, I have not updated my blog in a while. My crazy fulltime job has exhausted me. However, quite few good things have happened.

First, my husband and I found out in May that we are expecting our first child. I am now entering my 16th week of pregnancy :)

The baby is due on January 10, 2010. So you see I better start sewing a bunch to save money for the baby LOL. And in case you are wondering... yes I will be sewing baby items for my baby :) In fact, I am trying to find ideas of what to make for the nursery room. We should be able to find out the gender of the baby in 4 more weeks so after that, I'll start picking the fabrics to make the nursery project.

School almost starts. I have some sewing projects that I would like to finish this weekend. On my lists are lanyards, pencil pouches, crayon holders, make-up bags, and 2 sizes of pouches. All need to be done before Sunday--tomorrow. I was going to make totes but I don't think time will allow me to make them this weekend. And, all of my creations will be available on my Etsy shop.

back from long vacation and ready to sew

I just got back from a 3-week vacation visiting my families back home in Indonesia. My younger sister got married and she had lovely wedding celebrations.

Now I am ready to sew and to create more pretty things for my shop.

I already have an order for 2 sets of baby gifts -- travel baby changing pad, bib, burp cloth, and travel diaper bag. I should be able to finish them this weekend.

Then a coworker of mine asked if I could make some belts and dog collars. I have never done it before but I don't see why I can't make them. Just need to find the parts and I should be able to sew some samples to show.

Riverside Art Market is already going on until December 19. I am still interested in renting a booth so I can sell my crafts. I hope to start in early May. When it's ready, I will definitely make an announcement here.

time for some lanyard

I made these lanyards as a custom order. A coworker's roommate, who is a teacher, requested this particular custom order. I am happy with the result.

For these lanyards, I used Amy Butler's (the pink one) and Heather Bailey's (the blue one) fabrics.
